Vietnam fetches $227 million from crab exports

Vietnamese crab exports have experienced a significant surge of 66% in the first nine months of the year, generating $227 million in revenue and marking the highest growth among major fishery products. This increase is primarily due to a rise in demand from China and Japan. Overall fishery exports, including crabs, saw an 8.5% increase, reaching $7.16 billion. Shrimp exports were the leading contributor with a 10.5% growth. The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) anticipates that seafood exports will continue to grow, potentially reaching $9.5 billion in 2024, with a projected 7% increase, led by shrimp, pangasius, tuna, squid, and octopus.

Crab exports in the first nine months surged 66% year-on-year to $227 million, the strongest growth recorded among major fishery products.
