Ukraine: For the 2025 harvest, Transcarpathian farmers increased the area of winter grains

Transcarpathia has increased its winter grains sowing area to 25.9 thousand hectares for the 2025 harvest, marking an increase of 1,600 hectares from the previous year. This contributes to a total of 5.06 million hectares sown with winter grains in Ukraine, which is 98% of the forecast. The regions with the largest sowing areas for winter wheat are Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv. The protein content of the wheat harvest might have been less than the previous year, but the quality is reportedly higher.

In Transcarpathia, for the 2025 harvest, the area of winter grains was increased and 25.9 thousand hectares were sown with them. This is stated in the message of the Transcarpathian OVA on Facebook. In particular, the following were sown in the region: "For this campaign, 1,600 hectares more were attracted in the region than last year. Sowing of winter crops was carried out at the optimal time," the message says.
