Ukraine: Sunflower oil production will reach 4.9 million tons in 2024/25 MY

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine predicts that the country's grain and oilseed crops exports will reach 46.9 million tons by the end of the 2024/25 marketing year. This includes 40.3 million tons of grain crops and 6.6 million tons of oilseed crops. The exports are expected to consist of 16.2 million tons of wheat, 2.9 million tons of barley, 20.5 million tons of corn, 0.7 million tons of other grains, 3.7 million tons of soybeans, and 2.9 million tons of rapeseeds. Sunflower seeds will primarily be processed domestically, with a processing volume of 10.9 million tons and an expected sunflower oil production of 4.9 million tons.

According to the forecast balances of demand and supply of grain and oilseed crops, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine expects their export at the end of the 2024/25 MY at the level of 46.9 million tons. "As of December 2024, according to the forecast balances of demand and supply of grain and oilseed crops for the 2024/2025 MY, the export volumes of grain crops are forecast at the level of 40.3 million tons, which is 66.7% of the total supply, and oilseed crops - 6.6 million tons," the ministry specified.
