The National Authority for Food Safety and Standards intensified its inspection and regulatory campaigns on the circulation of food in the local market across various governorates of the Republic, as part of its role in tightening control over food safety and ensuring that safe and sound products reach consumers. The authority clarified that during the past week, it carried out extensive campaigns that included 233 centers and neighborhoods through 32 branches across the Republic, where 1,458 regulatory missions were conducted, covering the inspection of 5,122 food establishments. These efforts resulted in the disposal of quantities of food unfit for human consumption, alongside the licensing of 207 refrigeration and freezing vehicles (refrigerators) after meeting the stipulated requirements.
