Portugal: 20.9% increase in pork exports in the 1st semester of 2025

According to the report published by the GPP, concerning the preliminary data related to the export of pork, between January and June of 2025, exports of meat and its products increased by 20.9%, rising from 19,840 tons in 2024 to 23,980 tons in 2025. The pork exports are broken down as follows, in terms of tons: frozen meat - there was a 5.5% increase in exports which went from 9,055 tons in 2024 to 9,561 tons in 2025; fresh/chilled meat - there was a 46.2% increase in exports, rising from 6,675 tons in 2024 to 9,756 tons in 2025; variety meats - there was a 20.9% increase in export volumes, which were 19,840 tons in 2024 and 23,980 tons in 2025. In terms of euros, the turnover of exports increased by 16.8% (45,791 thousand euros) in 2024 when compared to 2025 (53,464 thousand euros).
