Here, farmers from across the country are reporting extremely low yields for spring crops. For sunflowers, yields are currently up to 50% lower compared to last year. For corn, the situation is even more dramatic – in many places, fields will be declared completely failed, and farmers are talking about yields of only between 100 and 150 kilograms per hectare. For the fourth consecutive year, drought and high temperatures are causing irreparable damage to farmers in Dobrudja, calling into question their physical survival.
