Odessa ports increase purchase prices for food wheat

The Ukrainian food wheat export market has seen a price increase due to high importer demand, limited supply, a rising foreign grain market, and reduced competition following Russian wheat export restrictions. The price rise is further fueled by competition between flour mills and exporters. As of January 16, 2025, the purchase prices for food wheat of class 3 in the ports of Greater Odessa have risen by 2-4 USD/t, ranging from 212-221 USD/t CPT-port. Meanwhile, in the Danube ports, demand prices have increased by an average of 2 USD/t, with rates ranging from 214-220 USD/t CPT port.

According to the data of the Agency "APK-Inform", since the beginning of this week, the Ukrainian export market for food wheat has maintained an upward price trend. The increase in the price of wheat is facilitated by the active interest of importers in purchasing this crop with a restrained supply from agricultural producers, the previous upward price trend on the foreign grain market, as well as the decrease in competition on the main sales markets against the background of restrictions on the export of Russian wheat.
