Catastrophic Agricultural Insurance compensated 1,800 producers in Piura with S/1,909,482

The Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Piura and the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation have provided compensation to 1,800 farmers affected by crop losses due to drought, totaling S/1,909,482. The assessment of the impact on over 2,397 damaged hectares was done in collaboration with midagri and other agrarian agencies. The compensation is aimed at supporting the most needs producers to continue their production. The Regional Government of Piura has implemented immediate actions to support producers in areas such as Piura, Sullana and Sechura, in an effort to recover the agricultural sector.

The Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Piura (DRAP), in coordination with the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), managed the compensation of S/1,909,482 to 1,800 producers affected by the loss of crops such as rice, banana, lemon and mango, due to the drought.
