The European Association of Trade in Cereals, Legumes, Oil Crops, Animal Feed, and Other Agricultural Raw Materials COCERAL has released a new forecast for grain production in Europe in 2025, which significantly exceeds the June estimates. Wheat and barley crops are expected to be record-breaking, while the corn crop forecast has been sharply reduced. Compared to the June estimates, the grain production forecast for the EU-27 and the United Kingdom has been increased from 300.7 to 306.8 million tons, significantly exceeding the 2024 figure (279.1 million tons). The wheat production forecast (excluding durum wheat) has been increased from 143.1 to a record 147.4 (125.6 million tons in 2024/25 MR) million tons, as favorable weather in France, Germany, Poland, and in southeastern Europe allowed for better-than-expected yields.
