REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Rice prices experienced a decline across the entire distribution chain in September 2025. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded a decrease in prices at the milling, wholesale, and retail levels during this period. “The average rice price at the milling level in September 2025 decreased by 0.62 percent month to month (mtm), but increased by 5.83 percent year on year (yoy),” said Deputy for Production Statistics at BPS M Habibullah during a press conference at the Central BPS Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (1/10/2025). Rice prices at the milling level in September 2025 were recorded at Rp 13,512 per kilogram (kg), lower than in August 2025 at Rp 13,596 per kg. “The inflation rate of rice at the wholesale level in September 2025 was deflation of 0.02 percent mtm, but became inflation of 5.54 percent yoy,” explained Habibullah.
