Vietnamese - Lao enterprises cooperate to help farmers produce rice with high productivity

In 2023, Somxay Corporation in Laos has initiated a project to enhance rice production in Khongsedone District, aiming to use advanced technology and support local farmers. This project, known as the Project of Investment, Development and Support for Farmers in Rice Production for Consumption and Export, employs a 3 + 2 value chain model, with the corporation covering technology, materials, and rice purchase, while farmers provide land and labor. The first year of the project saw the cultivation of 105 hectares of wet rice, leading to a significant increase in yield using Eco-Nanomix NPK fertilizer. The project has been successful in boosting rice yields and is set to expand in the following years, with plans to establish a rice processing factory and continue business cooperation with New Sun Fertilizer, marking a significant achievement in sustainable and green agriculture in Laos.

From 2023, Somxay Corporation (Laos) will implement the Project of Investment, Development and Support for Farmers in Rice Production for Consumption and Export in Khongsedone District with the goal of applying advanced technology, organizing production to improve economic efficiency for rice growers. Rice production according to the value chain with the method: 3 + 2. That is, the Corporation invests in: (1) Technology, (2) Materials (seeds, Eco-Nanomix NPK fertilizer, pesticides) and (3) Purchase of all rice products; farmers only contribute (1) Land, (2) Labor. Farmers participating in the project do not have to invest capital but have all products purchased. In the first year of project implementation (2023), Somxay Corporation organized the production of 105 hectares of wet rice, of which the Winter-Spring crop (dry season) was 75 hectares and the Summer-Autumn crop (rainy season) was 30 hectares.
