(Agraria.pe) Shipments abroad of Peruvian quinoa totaled US$35,365,000 between January and April 2024, presenting an increase of +43.6% compared to the same period last year (US$24,624,000), reported the Agro-export Management of the Association of Exporters (ADEX). This item, positioned at No. 1 in the ranking of Andean grains, concentrated 81% of the total, and surpassed in FOB amount giant corn (US$ 4,518,000), chia (US$ 1,925,000), kiwicha (US $946,573), chulpi corn (US$686,749) and cañihua (US$25,659). According to figures from the ADEX Data Trade Commercial Intelligence System, the United States was the country that demanded the most quinoa from Peru in the first four months of 2024 for a value of US$ 16,908,000, reflecting a growth of +65.5% and participating with 48% of the total.
