The Polish dairy industry is facing export barriers in Brazil.

Despite the expectations from the trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur, Polish dairy producers are having difficulties entering the Brazilian market.

According to the president of the Polish Milk Chamber, Agnieszka Maliszewska, Brazil is delaying the issuance of veterinary certificates necessary for exports, which effectively creates non-tariff barriers for Polish companies. Although the interim agreement between the EU and Mercosur has been in effect since May 1, 2026, the Brazilian side has not yet completed the certification procedures following previous inspections. This limits the access of Polish dairy products to the country's market.
