Spanish ham exports reached a historic record in 2025 with 72,721 tons exported for a value of €856.59 million, which represents an annual increase of 3.4% in volume and 5.6% in value. This was highlighted by Alberto Herranz, managing director of INTERPORC, at the XIII World Ham Congress, held in Granada. In the last five years, the exported volume has grown by 17.4% —10,799 additional tons— and the value by 65.6%, equivalent to €339.28 million more. For Herranz, this evolution reflects "not only the increase in sales, but also the sector's commitment to higher value-added products that consolidate the presence and prestige of Spanish pork in international markets." The main destinations continue to be European, with France, Germany, Portugal, and Italy at the forefront, although more distant markets such as Mexico, Japan, or China also figure among the top of the ranking.
