The sheep farming project progresses in Van, Turkey

Van Governor Ozan Balcı announced the success of the sheep farming project, which has distributed 210,000 sheep to 2,120 families. The project aims to distribute 1 million sheep to farmers in Van, a province with the largest pastures in Turkey. The project offers loans with zero interest and provides support in pasture improvement, vaccination, insurance, and combating animal diseases. So far, the project has received 10,000 applications and is in the evaluation process.

Van Governor Ozan Balcı stated that the sheep farming project continues successfully and that 210 thousand sheep have been given to 2,120 families so far. Van Governor Ozan Balcı visited the farm of Suat Buğday, who benefits from the 'I have many reasons to live in my village' project and lives in the Edremit district. Stating that farmers' small livestock has increased and the target is to distribute 1 million sheep to farmers, Governor Balcı said, "Van is one of the provinces with the largest pastures in Turkey. It has 3.5 million small livestock. Small livestock is one of the most important sources of income in our province.
