As of October 1, the total wild catch in Russia was 3.87 million tons, down 8% year-on-year, of which 2.9 million tons were caught in the Far East, 367,200 tons in the north, 56,100 tons in the west, and 385,300 tons in international waters. By species, the Far East produced 1.7 million tons of pollock, roughly the same as last year, and 329,000 tons of Pacific herring, up 17%. Rosrybolovstvo's assessment is that wild catches have remained roughly stable, and domestic prices have tended to weaken, especially in the Far East.
