The Frutales project of the Regional Agrarian Development Management of Puno has been carrying out grafting work on 1,500 avocado seedlings of the Hass, Fuerte, and other varieties at the Massiapo Alto Inambari Centralized Nursery, in the province of Sandia. The grafting technique allows two vegetative parts to be joined to achieve a single plant, with advantages such as greater adaptability to different soil and climate conditions, uniformity in the quality of the fruits, and resistance to pests and diseases.
