Poultry meat exports from Ukraine to the EU: How quotas will be distributed in 2025

The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has established export quotas for poultry and turkey meat for the year 2025. The poultry meat quota is set at 57,114 tons, with an additional 1,165 tons as a reserve, and the turkey meat quota is set at 1,570 tons. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy will distribute these quotas to exporters based on their actual exports to EU Member States from January to October 2024. Any remaining quota balance as of April 1, 2025, will be distributed to exporters based on their supplies to EU Member States in the first quarter of 2025.

This is stated in the relevant order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (No. 1481 of December 24, 2024), published on the Government Portal. The appendix to the document indicates that the quota for the export of poultry meat (chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl) is set at 55.54 thousand tons, turkey meat - 1.57 thousand tons. It is noted that the volume of quotas approved for the product "Meat and edible offal of poultry: domestic chickens (Gallus domesticus), ducks, geese, guinea fowls", with the exception of the reserve volume of the quota (1165 tons) and for the product "Turkey meat and edible offal of turkeys" is distributed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy among exporters in proportion to the actual volumes of exports of the specified products to the Member States of the European Union for 10 months of 2024 (January - October 2024).
