Poland: New decline in the number of pig farms

As of June 30, 2024, Poland's pig population stood at 9,206,191, marking a decrease of approximately 36,000 from the previous year, based on ARiMR data. The pig count in 2022 was below 9 million. There is also a noted decline in the number of agricultural holdings, with 49,539 registered farms, including 414 new ones and 2,337 closures, mainly affecting farms with 21-30 and 51-100 animals.

According to ARiMR data, on June 30, 2024, Poland had 9,206,191 pigs, around 36,000 fewer than in the same period of the previous year.
