Peru consolidates its position as a world leader in table grape exports

Peru has once again emerged as the world's leading exporter of table grapes, shipping 562,093 tons during the 2024-2025 campaign, marking its second year in a row at the top. Exports were distributed to 44 markets, with the United States, Europe, and Mexico being the primary recipients. The grape export season in Peru runs from October to April of the following year and includes over 56 varieties. The most popular varieties are 'Sweet Globe', 'Red Globe', and 'Allison'. The National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) played a crucial role in this achievement, especially with the authorization of 137 packing plants and the certification of more than 22,000 hectares of crops. Additionally, Senasa has initiated the process of phytosanitary certification for fresh fruit in refrigerated warehouses on ships at the port of Paracas, aiming to further boost the sustainability and growth of the agro-export sector.
