Russia: Participants of the Great African Expedition study aquatic bioresources in the Mauritania region

The Great African Expedition is set to explore the coastal waters of 18 West African states and the western Indian Ocean, focusing on regions like Morocco, Nigeria, Angola, and Madagascar. Utilizing the research vessels Atlantiro and Atlantis, the expedition aims to update data on aquatic bioresources, which have not been thoroughly studied since the 1980s. The findings are expected to boost commercial fishing and improve food security in these areas.
