Milk production in the Smolensk region increased by 3.5% in the first half of the year.

Farmers in the Smolensk region in January-June 2026 increased the production of meat and milk, reports Smolenskstat. Thus, the production of meat from livestock and poultry in farms of all categories in the region increased by 11.8% compared to January-June 2025 - to 45.4 thousand tons. The gross milk yield in the agricultural organizations of the region increased by 3.5% over the reporting period and amounted to 64.4 thousand tons. The livestock of cattle in farms of all categories in the Smolensk region at the end of June 2026 amounted to 104,602 heads, which is 25.3% more than at the end of June last year. Including, the number of cows increased by 20.7%, pigs - by 12.8%, sheep and goats - by 14.6%, while horses decreased by 4.1%.
