Trade4go Summary
Dairy product exports from Uruguay experienced a decline of 9% in July compared to the same month in 2023, as reported by the National Milk Institute. This decrease was largely due to a drop in whole milk powder exports, despite Uruguay's shipment of 12,738 tons to countries like Uzbekistan and Mexico. Other dairy products such as skimmed milk powder, cheeses, and Maneca saw mixed results in export volumes and revenues. The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board forecasts that global milk production will remain stable from September 2024 through the end of the year. The export demand for these dairy products has seen a decline due to reduced import activity from China, but prices have recently recovered, helping to improve margins for exporters.
