The Olive Oil Market Information System (SIMO) of the Ministry of Agriculture published its latest report on the marketing of olive oil during the past month of July, the ninth month of the current 2025/26 campaign, with the last quarter yet to be accounted for. Spanish olive oil production in the current campaign closed at just over 1.3 million tons, 8% less than in the previous 2024/25 campaign (1.42 Mt), but 17% more compared to the average of the previous four (almost 1.1 Mt). According to the MAPA, this has been a campaign that has lasted somewhat longer than usual, due to the delay in harvesting in certain producing areas affected by meteorological causes (torrential rains) from December to February.
