In 2024, Indecopi received 51 applications for plant breeder's certificates to protect new plant varieties, an 82% increase over the previous year. Grapes and blueberries were the species with the most applications, with 14 and 12, respectively, followed by strawberries, lemons, mandarins, olives, garlic, mangoes, and tomatoes.
