Demand for frozen raspberries is declining globally

The global market for frozen raspberries has seen a decline in demand over the past two years, with predictions of a decrease in raspberry production worldwide, particularly in Serbia and Poland. Ukraine, however, has no plans to follow suit. Ukrainian exporters face challenges in international markets due to issues such as product quality and delivery deadlines. In recent years, Ukrainian raspberry exports to Poland, which had been a major re-export hub, have decreased by 14% as Ukrainian producers have started to deliver directly to other countries like Germany, France, and Austria.

Over the past 2 years, the global market for frozen raspberries has seen a decline in demand, said Irina Kukhtina, chairwoman of the Association "Production of Annual Crops in Ukraine", quoted by the electronic publication AgroPortal. Kukhtina also predicts a decline in raspberry production in the world, with Serbia and Poland taking this path, while Ukraine has no such intentions so far. The low quality of the product, non-compliance with the declared characteristics, violation of the delivery deadline are the main problems that - among others - prevent Ukrainian exporters of strawberry crops from effectively conquering international markets, she is convinced.
