Peanut prices in Sudan continued their decline, as harvest pressure and weak demand from their largest export destination, China, pressured prices lower. Wholesale in-shell peanut prices in Sudan were as low as USD 0.40/kg midway through November, with few bullish factors that could support prices in the short term.
The price of fresh pomelo in Thailand has jumped 13.15% WoW to USD 0.76/kg in W5 of November 22.
According to Top Jaidech, Tridge Senior Engagement Manager in Thailand, increasing demand from China is influencing price movements of fresh pomelo in Thailand. Upcoming festivals, i.e., Chinese New Year, Qingming, Mooncake, and others, where an important traditional part of festivity is fresh pomelo, are increasing demand and export.
Thai pomelo is one among three export countries, with Laos and Israel, that have been approved to export to China. With the all-year-round supply season of Thai pomelos, price fluctuations are mainly driven by the market in China.
