The wholesale price of mustard seed has decreased to INR 60.6/kg, a drop of 10% WoW. News on the improvement in Indian mustard seed production is driving the price to decrease.
Over the past month, wholesale prices of fresh avocados in Kenya have risen significantly due to low supply. In the Western Regional market, Hass avocado prices rose from KES 50 per kilogram on the 30th of January to KES 74.57 per kilogram on the 27th of February, a 49.14% increase.
Market prices have been high owing to the low avocado availability expected at the beginning of the season. The Kenyan avocado season which began in February, delayed due to severe drought affecting the country over the past two months.
Tridge expects prices to keep flat over the next two weeks, dropping steadily as market volumes increase towards the peak period of the season, commencing at the end of March.
