Bodegas Estefania, S.L.

-Established in 1999. The Bodegas Estefanía project was based on the recovery of an old dairy in the district of Dehesas , in Ponferrada . In the remodeling of the building, an attempt was made to combine stone and slate from the Bierzo area with wood, in order to be in line with the traditional architecture of the area. -The objective of the project was to make available to the winery's technical team all the means to be able to produce the wine in the purest way. Each step of the production process is assigned a place, with specific conditions of temperature, humidity and light... This is the case of the barrel room, with around a thousand Bordeaux barrels, manufactured by the most prestigious firms of artisan coopers, mostly French oak. -The stillness and gloom that reign here are only interrupted by our cellar manager ( Carlos García ) or our winemaker and technical director ( Raúl Pérez ), who are in charge of supervising the evolution of the wines and determining the optimal moment of balance that ends this stage. -D.O.
