Egypt's Popcorn Prices Surge in Jan-24 Amid Inflation Rise and Supply Surge of Imports

In Jan-24, the price of popcorn in Egypt rose to USD 1,938.76/ton (EGP 60,000/ton), compared to USD 1777.20/ton (EGP 55,000/ton) in Oct-23, driven by the increased inflation rate. This increase was mainly attributed to most popcorn entering the market from export destinations rather than being locally produced.
