Wine exports from Georgia increased by 24% in the first half of the year

In the first half of 2024, Georgian wine exports to Russia surged by 36%, with the total value of exports reaching $156.7 million, a 24% increase from the previous year. Notably, 75% of these exports were destined for Russia, amounting to 41 million liters worth $111.1 million, reflecting a 36.7% rise in volume and a 35.8% rise in value. In contrast, 2023 saw a 2.6% increase in the value of Georgian wine exports to $259 million, despite a 12% drop in volume to 89.5 million liters, with exports to Russia decreasing by 10.9% in volume but increasing by 4.7% in value.
