Negotiations on quarantine and phytosanitary measures are nearing completion, EastFruit reports. Technical negotiations were completed in August, the ministry said. Legal procedures are currently underway to officially export fresh passion fruit to the US. According to FreshFruitPortal, the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association predicts that Vietnam can earn about $50-100 million a year from exporting fresh passion fruit to the US. Currently, eight types of fresh fruits are exported to the US from the country, including dragon fruit, mango, longan, lychee, rambutan, caimito, pomelo and coconut.
