Vietnam plans to start exporting fresh passion fruit to the US in 2025

Vietnam is set to begin exporting passion fruit to the US next year, following the completion of technical negotiations and the completion of legal procedures. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development predicts annual earnings from these exports to reach between $50-100 million. Currently, Vietnam exports eight types of fresh fruits to the US. The country has also successfully negotiated to export fresh passion fruit to Australia.

According to the Plant Protection Department and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam will be allowed to export passion fruit to the US next year. Negotiations on quarantine and phytosanitary measures are nearing completion, EastFruit reports. Technical negotiations were completed in August, the ministry said. Legal procedures are currently underway to officially export fresh passion fruit to the US. According to FreshFruitPortal, the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association predicts that Vietnam can earn about $50-100 million a year from exporting fresh passion fruit to the US.
