Beef was the second most exported product in the first half of this year, according to a Uruguay XXI report cited by El Observador. Second only to pulp, the South American country recorded revenues of USD 1,001 million, equivalent to 16.2% of the total. The sale of pulp represented USD 1,160 million per cellulose (+27% compared to the same period in 2023), while soybeans, which ranked third, amounted to USD 544 million (+111%). Another product of the livestock sector, dairy, was ranked fifth with USD 365 million (14% less than in the initial half of 2023) and a share of the total of 5.9%, while in tenth place were meat by-products with USD 208 million (-5%) and a 3.4% share. From January 1 to June 30, Uruguay exported 245,097 tons of beef, 6.32% or 14,570 tons more than in the same period in 2023, when it sent 230,527 tons.
