Robusta coffee prices have reached a record high of 4,634 USD/ton, a significant increase from the previous record of 4,530 USD/ton in May. This increase is due to a combination of factors, including increased demand from European importers looking to comply with the EU Deforestation Regulation, drier weather conditions in major coffee-producing countries, and concerns over potential supply losses due to drought and epidemics in Vietnam. Despite an 11.4% decrease in coffee exports in the first half of the year, the export value has sharply increased by 33.2%. The average export price of Vietnamese coffee in June was 4,489 USD/ton, a 5% increase from May and a 67.3% increase from the same month last year. Domestically, green coffee prices in Vietnam have also seen a sharp increase, reaching 128,000-129,000 VND/kg, and are expected to surpass the historical peak of 134,000 VND/kg recorded in April.
