The orange from the Tanguá Region (RJ), known for its sweet taste and high juice yield, will be evaluated until this Sunday (21) at the Tanguá Orange Exhibition Fair, which also hosts the fruit quality contest. The event was opened at the Posse dos Coutinhos Community Center and was attended by representatives from Embrapa Agroindustry of Food, including the general manager Edna Oliveira and the head of Technology Transfer André Dutra. According to Edna Oliveira, Embrapa played an essential role in the scientific validation of the orange, linking its unique characteristics to the territory. “The integration between research, rural extension, and producers strengthens family agriculture, boosts tourism, and enhances the local culture of the Tanguá region,” she states.
