Tajikistan enters top 3 importers of Uzbek pomegranate

Uzbekistan achieved significant success in pomegranate exports, shipping 4,280 tons to five countries over the eleven months from January to November 2024, generating a revenue of $4.7 million. Russia emerged as the largest buyer, accounting for 54.7% of the total exports, with Tajikistan and Kazakhstan following suit. Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine rounded out the top five importers. This achievement places Uzbekistan among the top three pomegranate exporting countries globally for the second consecutive year, according to EastFruit analysis.

Uzbekistan exported 4,280 tons of pomegranates in the period from January to November 2024, EastFruit reports. According to data published by the Statistics Agency, the volume of exports in monetary terms for the specified period amounted to $4.7 million. Russia was the main buyer of Uzbek pomegranates, which accounted for 2,325 tons. Tajikistan came in second, purchasing 724 tons, and Kazakhstan took third place with an import volume of 655 tons, UzDaily.uz reports.
