Sunflower oil bid prices in Ukraine have fallen due to a decrease in palm oil prices, despite an increase in soybean oil prices on the Chicago exchange. The introduction of import tariffs by Trump has caused oil prices to drop, potentially impacting soybean and other vegetable oil prices. Procurement prices for sunflower seeds in Ukraine remain around 26,500-27,500 UAH/ton, and there is limited competition due to processors operating inconsistently or halting operations. Export bid prices for sunflower meal at Black Sea ports are low at $215-220/ton, while sunflower oil delivered to Black Sea ports rose by $5-10/ton over the week to $1,125-1,130/ton. May soybean oil futures on the Chicago exchange rose by 2.1% to $1,068/ton due to speculative talks about increasing biodiesel production volumes in the U.S. in 2026.
