Vietnam: Prices of many fruits in Tien Giang and Ben Tre increased due to lack of supply

Farmers in Tan Phuoc district, Tien Giang province are experiencing a boom in profits due to a significant increase in the price of pineapples, jackfruits, and durians. The surge in prices, ranging from 10,500 - 11,000 VND/kg for pineapples, 35,000 - 40,000 VND/kg for jackfruits, and over 100,000 VND/kg for durians, is attributed to a high demand for these fruits for factory production and a decreased supply caused by prolonged drought and saltwater intrusion. Additionally, the price of raw dried coconut has seen a significant increase, offering farmers substantial profits. Currently, farmers growing pineapple in Tan Phuoc district, Tien Giang province are very excited when the price of this fruit is skyrocketing. At this time, traders go to farmers' pineapple fields to buy grade 1 pineapples at prices ranging from 10,500 - 11,000 VND/kg. This is the highest price in many years, giving a profit of more than 6,000 VND/kg.
