In Volyn, a mass collection of potatoes has begun, with the gross harvest expected to be at last year's level thanks to the resumption of vegetation after the rains. This is reported by VSN. Despite prolonged heat and drought, which led to the premature death of many crops, recent precipitation has allowed some plants to continue their growth. Because of this, farmers are in no hurry to finish the harvest, giving the tubers the opportunity to gain additional mass. A total of 42.5 thousand hectares are involved in the 2026 harvest in the region, of which 530 hectares belong to agricultural enterprises. Currently, farmers are actively protecting late plantings from late blight to preserve the marketable appearance and size of the potatoes. The situation in the fields remains varied, as precipitation fell extremely unevenly even within individual communities.
