LLC “Ponory” (Chernihiv region) installed a solar power plant at its dairy farm this year. The farm’s director, Volodymyr Sysa, writes about this in The Ukrainian Farmer magazine. “During the years of war, virtually all farms have equipped themselves with powerful diesel generators. However, they produce expensive electricity, so this is not a solution. Solar power, by contrast, is an ideal option for a farm,” he emphasizes. Volodymyr Sysa notes that their processing partners have maintained stable operations even under difficult conditions: “Ponory” ships milk to them every day and regularly receives payments. Energy is the foundation of operations for processing businesses, he adds. “Our partner diversified its electricity sources by combining industrial solar panels, cogeneration units and a diesel generator, and also signed direct contracts for electricity supplies from abroad,” Volodymyr Sysa says.
