The Poltava region in Ukraine is leading in the sowing of spring grain and leguminous crops, according to the acting head of the Poltava OVA, Volodymyr Kohut. The region has a total sowing area of 83.2 thousand hectares, with the largest area sown being barley (66.5 thousand hectares) and wheat (4.2 thousand hectares). Other crops including peas, oats, sugar beets, and sunflowers are also being sown.

Poltava region is among the top three regions of Ukraine in terms of sowing rates of spring grain and leguminous crops.
