Pineapple, a delicious fruit grown according to global standards - GlobalGAP, for every 1 hectare, a cooperative in Nghe An earns 1 billion

AE TA Agricultural Cooperative in Nghe An Province, Vietnam, has switched to cultivating pineapples under Global GAP standards, using organic fertilizers and strict monitoring. The shift has resulted in higher quality produce, stable prices, and a significant increase in income for farmers, with the first batch of MD2 pineapples exported to Korea in October 2024. The cooperative also plans to extend this practice to Taiwanese guava to further diversify its clean and safe agricultural products for both domestic and international markets.

AE TA Agricultural Cooperative is currently managing 62 hectares of agricultural land in Tan Thang Commune, Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province. Of which, 35 hectares are specialized in growing pineapples. Previously, pineapples were mainly cultivated in the traditional way, and consumption depended heavily on traders. In addition, the quality of pineapples was not high, and prices were unstable. Since 2022, Mr. Dau Phi Canh - Director of AE TA Agricultural Cooperative has decided to switch to growing pineapples according to Global GAP standards. First, the Cooperative decided to test planting 5 hectares of Queen and MD2 pineapples. To achieve Global GAP certification, it is necessary to meet a strict set of criteria with 147 specific contents.
