In 2024, the Peruvian pomegranate industry faced a significant challenge due to climatic issues caused by El Niño, leading to a 32% decrease in production compared to the previous year. Despite the obstacles, Peru managed to export 30,543 tons of pomegranates to 32 markets, with the Netherlands being the primary recipient, accounting for 53% of the total shipments. The United States and the United Kingdom followed as the second and third largest recipients, respectively. The average price per kilogram also saw a decrease in December 2024, further impacting the industry.
