(Agraria.pe) Peruvian pitahaya exports reached US$ 1,332,000 between January and August of this year, showing a growth of 570.6% compared to the same period in 2023, when they barely amounted to US$ 198,634, reported the Agroexports Management of the Association of Exporters (ADEX). The countries of the European Union are the leading destinations for this exotic fruit. The first was the Netherlands with US$ 761,033, registering an increase of 413.5%, followed by Spain with US$ 488,526 (4,541.1%). Both accounted for 93.8% of the total. Others were France, Canada, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Italy, Costa Rica and Aruba.
