Peruvian paprika reached eight markets in December 2024

In December 2024, Peruvian paprika exports saw a decrease of 9% in volume and 39% in value compared to the previous year, with the average price falling by 33%. Mexico was the main recipient, accounting for 48% of total shipments, followed by the United States with 43%. Other destinations included Spain, Russia, and Brazil. ADB International S.A.C. led the exports with 20% of the total. The exports were primarily made through the terminals of DP World (64%) and APM Terminals (36%).

The average price fell by -33%, from US$ 4.08 to US$ 2.72 per kilogram. In the analyzed month of 2024, paprika shipments from Peru reached eight destinations, with Mexico being the main recipient (48% of total shipments) with US$ 3.2 million (1,192 tons at an average price of US$ 2.69 per kilogram). It was followed by the United States (43%), with shipments valued at US$ 2.9 million (908 tons at an average price of US$ 3.19 per kilogram). For its part, Spain (3%) recorded purchases equivalent to US$ 206,000 (87 tons at an average price of US$ 2.37 per kilogram), and Russia (2%), with purchases for US$ 126,000 (81 tons at an average price of US$ 1.55 per kilogram).
