Peru exported jalapeño to 18 markets in 2024, seven less than the previous year

The country exported 4,058 tons of jalapeños, valued at US$ 6.4 million, marking a 37.8% drop in volume and a 30.8% drop in value from the previous year. The average price per kilogram increased by 11.4% to US$ 1.57. The number of markets for Peru's jalapeños also decreased from 25 to 18, with Belgium emerging as the primary destination.
