Peru exported chia and jojoba seeds for US$ 7.2 million in the first half of the year

Between January and June of this year, Peru exported over 2.1 million kilos of chia and jojoba seeds valued at approximately US$ 7.2 million, with Panama being the primary destination, accounting for half of the total exports. Other notable markets included Thailand, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, and Australia. The leading exporters in this sector for the first half of 2024 were Agropecuaria San Francisco, Agropecuaria San Pedro, Agrofino Foods, Agro Meca, Agropecuaria San Isidro, and Agrícola Yacanto.

According to this source, the main destination of these shipments was Panama, where placements were achieved for US$3,631,120 (50% of the total exported).
