Kurgan agricultural organizations increased production of chicken eggs by 36%

The Kurgan region in Russia has seen a significant increase in the number of agricultural poultry, cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs by the end of November 2024, with the largest number kept in households. Agricultural organizations experienced the highest rate of growth in sheep, goats, poultry, and pigs, while peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs saw a notable increase in the number of cattle and pigs. The region also produced a substantial amount of cattle, poultry, milk, and eggs from January to November 2024, with agricultural organizations contributing the most to the production and showing the highest increase in egg production. Additionally, agricultural organizations also saw a significant increase in sales of livestock and poultry in live weight compared to the previous year.

In addition, the number of sheep and goats in farms of this category has increased significantly - by 31.5% In the Kurgan region, by the end of November 2024, the number of agricultural poultry amounted to 1,578.7 thousand heads, the number of cattle - 115.5 thousand heads (including 50.1 thousand cows), sheep and goats - 114.6 thousand heads, pigs - 71.4 thousand heads. By the same date in 2023, the regional poultry population increased by 9.6%, sheep and goats - by 0.7%, cows - by 0.1%.
