Kherson region will increase sown areas, of which 10 thousand hectares will be planted with vegetables, watermelons and melons

The Kherson region in Ukraine is experiencing a busy season for spring crop sowing, with agricultural producers actively planting crops such as peas, flax, and spring barley. The total sowing area is projected to reach around 220 thousand hectares, marking a significant increase from the previous year. This includes 23 thousand hectares of spring grain, leguminous crops, and technical crops like potatoes, vegetables, watermelons, and melons. Additionally, over 120 thousand hectares have been sown with winter crops such as grains and rapeseed. Farmers are also implementing necessary care for the winter crops through activities like fertilization, cultivation, and harrowing.

The active phase of sowing spring crops is taking place in the Kherson region. As reported by the Kherson Agricultural Board, agricultural producers in the region are actively sowing peas, flax and spring barley. In total, this year the area sown will reach about 220 thousand hectares of land, which is one and a half times more than last year.
