China: Jiuquan City, Gansu Province strives to improve the supply level of livestock and poultry breeds

Jiuquan City in Gansu Province has launched a comprehensive project to improve livestock and poultry breeds, introducing superior breeds, engaging in pure breeding, and conducting hybridization. The city has successfully established numerous improvement sites and built several new breeding farms, introducing over 2.5 million heads of livestock and poultry in the first half of the year. The improved rates of beef cattle and mutton have reached 90% and 85% respectively, with a total supply capacity of 187,000 improved breeds, marking a 24.2% increase from the previous year.

Since the beginning of this year, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province has vigorously implemented a breeding project that combines the introduction of improved livestock and poultry breeds, pure breeding of breeding stock, and hybridization and improvement.
